Today, I am at the British Antarctic Survey in Cambridge. This is because I am meeting people to discuss my next season, which will be to Ablation Valley, Alexander Island.
This is on the western coast of the Antarctic Peninsula, next to George VI Ice Shelf. Mike Hambrey and I depart in mid- to late-October. We will be looking at the interaction between valley glaciers on Alexander Island and the ice shelf throughout the Holocene (the last 10,000 years).
