The Greenland Connection is a project funded by the NERC Arctic Office, which aims to illustrate the diversity of people involved in UK-led explorations to Greenland.
The Greenland Connection comprises six StoryMaps covering:
- The People of Greenland
- The Scramble for the Arctic
- Indigenous Involvement in Greenland Expeditions
- Women in the history of Greenlandic Expeditions
- The Sailors and Soldiers in the Expeditions
- Greenland Science today
The StoryMaps are available in English, Danish and Greenlandic.
They are written for adults and students aged 16+ and are appropriate for anyone with an interest in the history of Greenlandic expeditions.
They are aligned with the UK A Level Geography national curriculum and would provide an extension or stretch and challenge activity for A Level or undergraduate students.
